With a total of 88 entries in the Men’s and Women’s Skilled Singles events held this past weekend, Mason Caldwell and Anika Sachdev came out on top winning the Men’s Open and Women’s 4.0 events, respectively. Caldwell defeated Christian Penafiel 6-2, 6-4 in the finals on Sunday February 10 at the Rick Ninete Tennis Center in Hagatna, while Sachdev won the Women’s 4.0 after Arn Diaz retired in the second set winning 7-6 (4).
Also on Sunday in a surprise upset, unseeded Kian Malakooti took down No.1 Julien Guedon 6-4, 6-4 in the Men’s 4.0 final.
In a brother versus brother showdown, 15 year old Jacob San Agustin won the Men’s 2.0 final over 13 year old Nathan San Agustin 6-1, 6-4.

Starting Saturday, February 16 at 8am, is the Men’s and Women’s Skilled Combination Doubles which will be played at the Sheraton Laguna Resort and Spa and RNTC. The seeded teams of Men’s Open division are No.1 Caldwell and Joshua Cepeda, No.2 Penafiel and Camden Camacho and No.3 Torgun Smith and Wendell Roden. The deadline for the Skilled Combination Mixed Doubles is on February 15.
