The ITF provides the curriculum and materials, and the certification is awarded by the National Association (in your case, the GNTF), often calling the recipient an "ITF-certified coach" once they've met the international standard.

ITF Coaching Pathway

ITF Course Title Formally Known As Core Focus & Competency Next Step
ITF Play Tennis Course (None, introductory level) This is an introductory course focusing on the ITF’s Play & Stay campaign, which uses slower red, orange, and green balls on smaller courts. It teaches the coach how to introduce tennis to beginners of all ages, allowing them to Serve, Rally, and Score immediately. Successful completion is often a pre-requisite for the Level 1 course.
ITF Coaching Beginner & Intermediate Players Course ITF CBI Level 1 This is the entry-level full coaching qualification. It prepares a coach to work with beginner and intermediate players (grassroots up to initial competition stage). It includes key aspects of methodology, tactics, technique, and physical/mental conditioning. Leads to the ITF Coaching Advanced Players Course (Level 2).
ITF Coaching Advanced Players Course ITF Level 2 This advanced course focuses on coaching advanced players (up to a national/regional competition standard). The coach learns how to apply advanced training principles, and plan and organize year-long training and competition programs. Leads to the ITF Coaching High-Performance Players Course (Level 3).
